Styling a Basic White Tee

Styling a Basic White Tee

Lately I have been obsessed with basic tees. I have probably bought 3-4 white, black, and grey basic tees within the last month. I find they can be so versatile and can be the perfect piece to complete a look.  It is such a classic item that can be paired with almost anything in your closet. In this post, I show one of the ways I would wear a basic white tee. You can shop this lust-worthy look above.

Are you a fan of basic tees? How do you style your basics??

LOVE is all we NEED....

Sweatshirt: Forever 21 (here) / Skirt: H&M (similar) / Shoes: Zara (similar)

Here we are on the 27th of March, and there is still talk of snow and wind chills but nothing on spring, sunshine, and flowers. I know I have said this time and time again but this weather is really getting the best of me. Instead of snuggling up under the covers watching movies,  I would like to be out eating ice cream and taking long walks in the park. Well, I digress.

I decided to bring spring to my life even if the weather man doesn't want it around. I am all for florals and pastels to help bring the season to life.  This cropped sweatshirt definitely did the trick. As soon as I put it on, it made me want to go the park and take pics for the blog. I wore it with a high-waisted skirt and nude pumps to add a level of sophistication and sexiness to an otherwise casual sweatshirt. Although it looks like a nice 70 degree weather day in these pics, it was quite the opposite. I was only able to get a couple of posts in because I couldn't take the severe chill that I was dealing with.

How do you feel about the floral trend? Feel free to share in the comments. I would also love to see pics of you readers rocking your floral pieces. Send them in. Have a great Thursday loves!!!

Pardon My Back

Shirt, Zara - Jeans, American Apparel - Shoes (similar here), Bebe - Necklace, H&M - Sunglasses, Ray-Ban

Happy Monday!! I have been really bad at posting but with the change of season, I will definitely be more consistent. I enjoyed the weather this past weekend and decided it was the perfect time to get back into the swing of things. I've also been waiting on the perfect time to wear this new top I got from Zara. I love the print on the top. The colorful brush stroke pattern on this top with the exposed back makes this one of my favorite items in my closet right now. It gives off a classy from the front, sexy from the back vibe. Tune in later this week because I will make sure to have a couple more posts throughout the week.

Kisses!!

Celebrity Inspiration: Kim Kardashian

I am such a fan of how Kim manages to always look so fashionable while still remaining classic and simple. Yesterday, I was trying to achieve a similar look. I wanted to be comfy for a day of running around, but still remain effortlessly chic. Kim's look was right up my alley. I am a huge fan of monochromatic looks and a bigger fan of all grey everything.  But this will be my last post without color. I am excited for the spring and as a farewell to the cold weather, I decided to wear my last colorless outfit yesterday.

Trend Spotlight: Sunglasses

Hi loves!!!

Since starting the blog, I have not been as consistent as I want to be with my posts. When I began the blog, I wanted the blog to consist mostly of outfit posts and wanted to post 3-5 times a week. Boy have I failed at that goal. So I now decided that I would start a weekly feature. So every Wednesday I will do a trend spotlight post. It will  be a post showcasing some of my favorite items that are in trend for the moment. For my first trend spotlight, I featured sunglasses. This post is exciting for me because I live for a good pair of sunglasses.

Trend Spotlight: Sunglasses

With the weather changing for the better and the sun staying out longer, everyone will soon be searching for a good pair of sunglasses. And now there are so many great options to choose from. Whether you want to be classic and conservative or bold and trendy, there is something for you.  Some of the popular sunglass trends that we are seeing lately are the classic wayfarer style, colorful frames with lots of patterns and color blocking, cat-eye, etc. I would say that the most popular feature is that of the mirrored lens. All brands have a frame or 2 with mirrored lens. I love the mirrored frames because it gives off a incognito but super cool look. All of the sunglass styles above are some of my favorites for the season. I hope this post inspires you to head out to your closest sunglass retailer and pick up a great fashionable pair of sunglasses. Check out some celeb inspiration below.
Miley Cirus in round gold-trimmed sunglasses
Beyonce in tortoise-rimmed sunglasses
Kourtney Kardashian in mirrored aviators
Gwen Stefani in mirrored, cat-eye sunglasses
What are some of your favorite sunglasses trends? Which brand has the best sunglasses of the season?

Outfit: Sporty

I am loving this sporty trend that we've been seeing lately and this Zara sheer varsity top fits right in with the trend. And to continue with the mesh ideas, I decided to pair with pencil skirt with mesh inset. I saw a little sunshine today and decided it was a great day to do an outfit post. Once outside, I realized it is still FREEZING out. I can't wait for the weather to break. In the meantime, I've been dreaming of a vacay filled with beaches, sand, margaritas, and sun. Any vacation ideas out there? Where should the girls and I go this summer to turn up and let loose?

8 Must-Have Items from Zara

It's been way too long since my last blog post. I have been so consumed with work from my day job and I also had family over last weekend. Also, the cold weather has really had me in a lazy, unmotivated mood. But this morning I woke up and realized this is the first full week of March and today is the day to get back on my grind. I went to the gym, went to Target(my favorite place to go), and came home and started blogging. Well during the time I have been gone, I've spent a lot of time window-shopping and planning out my spring wardrobe. I must say that Zara has stolen my heart, as always, for this upcoming season. There are soooo many items that I want from there and now I have to save up to make it happen. Here are the 8 items that I am excited to add to my wardrobe and hope to be wearing in my upcoming outfit posts!

1. Open Back Dress  - I love the back detail of this dress. Although the color doesn't completely put me in the spring mood. I can picture me wearing this with nude strappy sandals and bold gold jewelry while sipping mimosas with my friends at Saturday morning brunch.

2. Leather High Heel Shoe with Buckle - I have been searching for the perfect white shoe that I will wear with everything. THIS IS IT!!! This shoe would be great with distressed denim and a tee for a casual-chic look and would also look great dressed up with skirts, shorts, and dresses. These will be my first purchase.

3. Leather and Suede Shopper - The yellow shade of this bag alone makes it great for the spring season. This color can be worn with most of my clothing and would be a great pop of color with a monochromatic look. I love this bag and I'm sure you will see it a lot in the coming months.

4. Top with Details - I am not a fan of cropped tops bc I was not blessed with a stomach that I care to bare. So this item is perfect for all you slim girls out there. The detailed edge of this skirt is to die for. Perfect for one of the many all-white parties that will be approaching soon.

5. Shiny T - I LOVE this t-shirt. It is one of those pieces that I would wear everyday if I could. I am a fan of anything with sequins but still casual. This sporty, girly, sparkly, t-shirt would look great with ripped up boyfriend jeans and 5-inch or higher sandals. This will be my 2nd purchase!

6. Printed Skirt with Buckle - This midi-length skirt speaks for itself. I know it will be a while longer before I can wear this with bare legs, a summery pink pedicure, and open toe-shoes. But a girl can dream. This skirt will be a great addition to my wardrobe.

7. Leather Open-Toe High Heel - How can you not love these high heel beauties? These sandals are great for any girl's wardrobe. They work with any style and almost any outfit. The neutral color, the heel height, and the overall style of the shoe will make this my go-to piece for all occasions.

8. Leather Biker Jacket with Zips - Anyone who knows me will say that I live in a leather biker jacket. I own more than 5 and don't mind adding more to my collection. I love the quilting detail on the shoulder and on the sleeves. I also love the fact that it is so tailored which allows you to wear with dresses and more feminine pieces.

Which were your favorite pieces and where do you plan on shopping for your spring wardrobe? Looking forward to a great March. Good-bye February! You will not be missed....
